Kenneth Omeruo Eyes Move to CFR Cluj After Becoming Free Agent

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo is reportedly in talks with Romanian top-flight club CFR Cluj over a potential move. The 31-year-old center-back has been without a club since his contract with Turkish side Kasimpasa was mutually terminated in February 2025.

Sources indicate CFR Cluj, one of Romania's most successful clubs with eight league titles, has shown strong interest in the experienced Nigerian international. Omeruo's profile on transfermarkt confirms the Romanian champions' pursuit, though the player is also attracting attention from clubs in Turkey and Major League Soccer (MLS).

With a career spanning top European leagues, Omeruo brings valuable experience from stints in the Netherlands (ADO Den Haag), England (Chelsea, Middlesbrough), and Spain (CD Leganés). His potential signing would bolster CFR Cluj's defense as they prepare for domestic and European competitions next season.
